  • A Fairytale Moment

Every piece of this kit made it feel like I was building a scene from a storybook. The roses, the soft moonlight, and those delicate little windows are absolutely dreamy. The built-in light and music box were my favorite touch. It took me around 5 hours, and it was worth it.

    Dreamy Book Hall

I purchased this back in February. I started putting this together Aug 1.

Let’s start with Step 1- assembly of 198 books. This took a little bit over 1.5 hours. I took my time. The next day I noticed the stickers on a lot of books weren’t staying. A micro drop of glue on each worked wonders.

The instructions moving forward for the most part were clear and precise. Following pictures really helped. I did notice some pieces fit together beautifully while others were looser. Again, I used a tad of glue to hold in place. The glue provided really came in handy throughout the assembly of this.

When building the pillars, (that is what I called them), I found that gluing the 3d pieces on worked better after the assembly was finished. They were sliding because of trying to snap it together. Just worked best for me.

The further into the instructions, the pictures were a bit grainy and it was hard to see exactly where things were supposed to be snapped together. I persevered by taking pictures with my phone and enlarging them. It worked. Pages just need to be lighter. It would really help.

The lights were easy to follow where they went. They worked in the beginning when I tested them. Assembly went well there until I tried them again. The box on top will not light up. Not sure why that light doesn’t work. I unassembled and reassembled everything. It’s all in tact. Not sure why that particular light stopped working.

Assembling the back onto this was a little tricky. Trying to snap them on, I was dislodging the rails on the top and other items were coming off. Glue was becoming my best friend. I glued everything back on including the backing. It actually was more sturdy when I moved it to the shelf.

All in all, it was a great time consuming project to build. It’s very intricate and detailed. It’s beautiful! I worked on it about 29 hours over a 10 day period. That’s a long time but I’m also detailed when assembling these kits. It was a great purchase! Level 5 was worth it!

    A well designed, challenging model.

This is a very detailed model. Most pieces snap together tight but they do include some very nice glue to use on any loser or delicate connections. Step one consists of creating 198 "books", an OCD dream kit. I do a lot of wood models, brick models, etc and I found this one to be quite challenging. Not as hard as building boat models from scrap, but definitely harder than "lego" models. The instructions could be larger, especially later on when everything is brown and color differences lose their definition on such small images. I put in a solid 40 hours on this, but I tend to be a perfectionist.

    Beautiful but not fun!!

Extremely delicate pieces. Had to use so much glue to fix snapped staircase!! Some instructions were counterintuitive in their structure. Very beautiful but not fun to build!!

Very difficult build but incredibly fun

Holy cow! What a build. Some advice, the pieces fit together INCREDIBLY TIGHT, add a little glue or wax to make it easier to fit. This is not a beginner friendly build and definitely one of the hardest builds I've ever done!Unfortunately, a couple pieces broke when putting them together and no extra pieces (g5 specifically).I had a lot of fun making it BUT the instructions weren't great, the pictures are so small and very little written instructions, so be sure to really look at the image to make sure the pieces are oriented right.

    The perfect creative distraction

I purchased this for my son-in-law to help him stay engaged during his cancer treatment, knowing how much he enjoys assembling things. I’d heard this kit had many pieces, but when he called after returning from the hospital—his voice full of excitement—I knew I’d made the right choice. It’s given him a rewarding project to focus on at home. Thank you for turning a challenging time into an opportunity for creativity and inspiration.

    Challenging

This was challenging to put together but the main reason for 3 stars is the electrical. One of the main wires was too short, and in my effort to try to make it work, the wire broke. Not having any access to an electrician and with the project near completion, I had to complete it without the lighting. Very disappointed about that because it would have been beautiful with it.

Beautiful Design and a Fun Build – Just Check the Lights as You Go

I had an absolute blast putting this together. Every section was different, which kept the build interesting from start to finish. The detail is outstanding, and the finished library looks incredible on display.

The wiring took the most time and required patience, but it was also one of the most rewarding parts of the project.

The only minor issue I had was that one of the LED bulbs stopped working after the build was complete. Fortunately, the rest of the lighting still works, and it doesn’t take away from how beautiful the finished piece looks.

Overall, this was one of the most enjoyable DIY kits I’ve ever built, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who enjoys miniature models and detailed projects.

    Very Difficult!

It is beautiful, but very difficult to put together. It is hard to get pieces put into the tiny holes provided. You had better have a lot of patience if you want to assemble this thing and have good hand strength to snap stuff together. If you have anger issues like I do, this is not a good product for you. There has been a lot of yelling and cussing as I have attempted to assemble it. I keep telling myself to give up on it, but hope I will finish it. Another issue is the instructions, they are mostly pictures, they would be a lot easier if they were all written out! This photo shows how bad I am at at putting it together. The first bookshelve wasn't put together right because I didn't understand exactly how to do it.

Needs a little more color. Just not the fake ugly plants

This was my very first mini & I was completely obsessed. I loved building all the things. My only two complaints…1. Fake, ugly plants2. Almost everything is brown. It needs far more color. Just not the fake, ugly plants.

    Great model, great design

This model was a lot of fun, almost 200 little books to make but all pieces fit together well. The light wires are plenty long enough to reach the correct locations, turned out really nice .

    Pieces are NOT perfect

I ordered this project being unaware of the brand but willing to give it a try. The pieces were easy to take out, however, some of them were too loose and didn't stay in place, making it difficult to place others. I did have some extra pieces, but unfortunately, the top railing broke both times I tried to install it. The instructions left a bit to be desired because they weren't very clear when it came which direction pieces were supposed to go. I had to use glue where I shouldn't have needed to. There are also places where you have to force several wires thru and then put the back on, however, when the pieces don't fit snug enough, it doesn't stay together. I have contacted the company and the are sending me replacement parts for the railing pieces that broke so I'm waiting for those. But to contact them again regarding loose pieces seems like it's too much. I may send them an email after receiving the replacement parts. We'll see how the final product comes together. I loved this particular model and it sucks that it's been stress inducing instead of relieving. UPDATE: The company sent me a new item nook to put together so I'm happy they made it right.

Dreamy Book Hall DIY KIt - LOVE IT!

This is the first DIY miniature kit I have ever assembled and I loved it! My sweet daughter-in-law asked me what I wanted for my birthday and I had always loved miniatures. You see my version of this has some things not added in the original kit and some things missing. I decided my library needed a world globe, a telescope for the terrace, and a red chair by the piano (I scavenged these from a kit I bought - a bookend library). Then, using the parts I didn't use to build the columns, I made myself a grandfather clock (plus I used a pic from the internet for the clock face and items from my craft stash to make the clock pendulum). Then, I made myself a Victorian lamp for the terrace using the column parts, an internet pic of a Victorian lamp shade, and a tiny plastic "jewel" added to the top-then I glued one of the lights from the included light kit behind it. I did mess up the stairs, just couldn't get the stair rails to stay put, but I learned a lot-plus, I kind of like the open stairs. I decided not to add the columns around the piano, because the piano was just so cute and the columns also blocked the back bookshelves with all the tiny books I spent so much time creating with the colorful book covers! I figured out a way to attach the round balcony, but decided not to as, again, it blocked things and I liked the open look. Since I couldn't conquer threading the lights into the structure, I instead threaded them through the shelves with no back and attaching them to the ceilings the lights would stretch to. The library needed more plants, so I added miniature jars I got on nookfan. Then..... I decided the library was missing kittens - so I added six I bought from an artist on Etsy - CAN YOU FIND ALL SIX (I added pics of 4 of the 6 kitties)? Anyway, this was fun, challenging, interesting, calming - I can't recommend it enough! Very high quality, and I loved the smell of the wooden parts! It has a place of honor (where else) on one of my bookshelves where I attached a motion-sensitive light to the bottom of the shelf above it, so it lights it up when I walk by - just love it! So get it, and make it your own!

    There are better brands

Update- they saw my review and apologized, and gave me a refund..so the customer service definitely helps make me feel better about this kit. Thank you. This was my first book nook kit. I was almost immediately frustrated by how hard some pieces took to snap together. Once they are together, they are very secureOne of my pieces were outlined, but not cut. It was a small piece to secure wiring so we made something else work.Instructions leave a bit to be desired there are several columns where left and right matter, and it wasn't clear and had to be redone. In the end, my fingers felt bruised from having to force pieces together. My husband was helping me so our marriage was tested through this process as well.I bought a second kit, from a different brand, and quality was just so much better. I like the finished product, but I don't want to put one from this brand together again.

    Spectacular result, somewhat painful process

If you’re looking for your first book‑nook kit or a relaxing, low‑stress build, you may want to skip this one. It is for people who already have experience with similar projects or are specifically seeking a challenge. The finished library is absolutely beautiful and packed with detail, but getting there is not easy.

The instructions are the biggest issue: they use small black‑and‑white images with fuzzy details, which makes several steps hard to interpret, especially anything involving cable routing. Once the cables are installed, they’re often difficult or impossible to reposition. I installed one cable incorrectly and it ended up too short to reach the battery box. Fortunately, I know how to solder and was able to extend it.

That said, the final result really is stunning. If you have the patience and the skill, the build is rewarding, and at $36 the price is excellent for the amount of detail and the overall quality.

One last note: The kit does not include glue, which is a bit disappointing since many similar kits do. Make sure you have some on hand before you start.

    Review update, upset

Good quality. Pieces are sturdy not easily broken, great plus. Only complaint is the pictures were really hard to see. I had to disassembled a few time in the beginning. Now i make sure the position is correct before snapping it into place. Oh and it easier when you have strong nails to force the pieces into place.Update: 5/25Spent a little over a week building it. Takes a lot of patients and force for some parts. After everything was done, I put the battery back in and light bulb went out! I was really upset. Apparently they can't replace the parts unless i send the defective part back which means i would have to disassemble and return everything which is even more upsetting. Seriously do not know what to do. They need to have better solutions. So i took thr 4 stars down to 3. Which is a shame cus the finish product was actually worth the time spent. Picture of defect attachedUpdate 5/29I decided to disassembled and get it replace. It was tiring but I want a product that works. So tips for everyone is to keep checking the bulbs throughout the time building it. I would definitely buy this brand again.
