I received this last Christmas and had put off on completing it because I lost patience several times when it came to the individual books, which took me a few sessions here and there. After 7 months, I finally managed to actually sit down and do them, which took me almost an entire day, but it was so worth it - the details, the lighting, and the quality are very sturdy so you could mallet every piece into place without breaking anything. Overall, a really nice experience.
This book nook kit has a very elegant, classical design. I love the forced perspective, decorative ceilings, and two different lighting tones. Great directions, easy assembly, beautiful nook! Would recommend for beginning to intermediate builders.
This is my third book nook, and I was really excited to receive this, as it was one of the larger ones. As hoped, it did take me longer than the others, which was mostly due to number of parts and not greater difficulty than the others. The instructions were pretty good (the instruction booklet itself was the nicest I have seen thus far). A few spots I did feel the order of instructions could have been rearranged, but I was able to make everything work. There are a lot of books to wrap, but that's to be expected for a library themed nook! They do include the necessary tools (still trying to figure out why there's a mallet though), which was much appreciated.A few things, however, would make me hesitant to recommend this one in particular, regardless of skill level. The number one issue being the notable gaps in between objects, despite significant efforts to make sure they align as well as possible. You can see this in the bookshelf on the lower level. I also do not like that the back wire to the globe was still visible since it runs along the floor and is black and yellow. It's hard to see in the picture but is noticeable in person.Overall, it's okay. I think the image looked cooler than the final product, and the quality was of parts were lower than the other nooks I've built. As such, I wish I had purchased one of the other nooks I had been considering instead of this one.
I have done many booknooks. I thought this one would be challenging. The reason I only gave it 3 stars is there is no challenge. But after putting together about 100 books you end up finding pieces on their board punching them out and gluing them together. From start to finish about 12 hours.
I was excited to get this one. I like the MAX kits, I've done two now. It was actually kinda simple and quick to put together. I had the smaller one too and that was more challenging. However this looks great, the quality of the materials is great, easy to snap apart and fits great. I recommend this kit, it's fun.Saison Cafe is a fun book nook. Great quailty interesting topic. Easy to put together. I'd recommend this to any book nooker.The Viking kit is really fun, really cool buildings and cloud material to hide lights. Really recommend.
