Song of Sirens - DIY Book Nook Kit

This is my 3rd book nook, and creatively it’s my favorite that I’ve done and also the most “sturdy.” Constructing the sunken ships took the longest. The materials are really well made, and it was such a fun project to do! The glue is pretty good, but the fog on the dust cover is from the glue, and it wipes off easily. The lighting is so cool, it creates a storm effect with the clouds. Definitely not a starter set, but great for someone who loves to be creative!

This little DIY miniature really blew me away. From the moment I opened the box, I was impressed by the attention to detail. Every tiny piece feels thoughtfully designed, and the instructions are clear enough that even a novice like me could follow along.Building it was lots of fun. Snapping together the miniature walls, arranging the tiny lamps, and finally adding the LED light. It felt like I was creating my own little magical world. The LED really brings it to life, giving the whole scene a cozy, ethereal glow.I also love that it comes with a dust cover, it’s reassuring to know this tiny masterpiece is protected. I will say this took a LONG time to put together and requires a lot of attention to detail. It fits well on my bookshelf and is the perfect size.This kit is perfect for anyone who loves DIY projects, miniatures, or just wants to add a whimsical touch to their bookshelf. It’s relaxing to assemble, visually stunning, and honestly makes me feel like I’ve captured a little piece of a magical world right in my own home. Highly recommend if you want something creative, detailed, and just plain fun!

Well organized. The pieces seem to be cut to precision. The design is imaginative. The estimate of build time (6 to 8 hours) seems right.The instructions - like most of these nooks - are clear step by step.I noticed some folks had breakage issues - I looked over the sheets ... look fine in situ, but will be careful. With luck I won't have to learn about the glue quality.Overall, a nice addition to the collection.Price is consistent with similar nooks.

I am an experienced model builder, but I have never attempted one of these book nook kits. The Song of the Siren is rated at a 3 star difficulty, 260 pieces, and 6 to 8 hours of assembly time. The kit was packaged in a flat form, similar to assemble yourself furniture. A pair of angled tweezers, frosting rod (actually a small emery board), and some glue are included. As far as tools go, this is really all that is needed.The boards are a mix of medium fiberboard and acrylic. I was astonished at the print and cutout quality of the boards. All of the cutouts are very precise and easy to pop out, and you can use the frosting rod or some sandpaper to smooth off the break points. The acrylic sheets have still have a plastic film on them and must be peeled off before using them. A collection of real and very small seashells are included for the ocean bottom. There is even a sea urchin shell that is used as a hanging lamp. The interior is lit with several LED lights that needs 2 AAA batteries. A touch switch turns the lighting on or off.Assembly was challenging and a lot of fun. It took me the better part of two weekends to complete it, and the end result is well worth it. I love the attention to detail, such as the separation of the ocean above and below, where a sunken ship wreck lays at the bottom, and a fishing boat is fighting a storm above. There are even clouds above and a lightning effect. The instructions were detailed and generally good, but there are some parts that needs more clarification, such as using the double-sided tape to somehow hang a seashell light.Overall, I really like this kit. It takes some effort to complete, but the finished product is so good, you’ll want to get another one.
